History

VKB-bank was founded as cooperative in 1873 and changed into a public company in 1981

Sole shareholder of the VKB-bank AG ist Volkskredit Verwaltungsgenossenschaft which is owned by some 34,000 cooperative members.

The regions of Bavaria, Salzburg and Lower Austria are also managed from upper Austria.
